如是我聞:一時佛在王舍城 迦蘭陀竹林


爾時犢子梵志往詣佛所,問訊佛已,却坐一面,白佛言:

「世尊!我有少疑,今欲諮問。若有閑裕,願為解說!」

佛言:

「隨意問難。」

犢子言:

「以何緣故,諸餘沙門、婆羅門等有人來問:『死此生彼,……(乃至)非生彼,非非生彼。』悉皆能答。沙門瞿曇以斯問:『死此生彼,……(乃至)非生彼,非非生彼。』無義理故,置而不答?」

佛告犢子:

「吾今問汝,隨汝所解,而答於我。於汝意云何:若因若緣,若行若根本,若行所從生,若色若無色,若有想若無想,以此因、以此緣、以此行、以此根本、以此行所 * 從,無餘寂滅,無想盡處,若如是等無有因緣,無行無想及盡滅法,我寧於此無因緣等盡滅法中說死此生彼,……(乃至)說非生彼,非非生彼耶?」

犢子復白佛言:

「如是因,如是緣,如是行,如是根本,如是行所從生,是色是無色,是想是無想,斯等諸法皆至無餘盡滅,無想滅處。如是諸法無有因緣,吾當云何而能答之?」

爾時犢子聞佛所說,心生歡喜,而作是言:

「希有,瞿曇!汝 * 今弟子說義句味等無差別!」

犢子復言:

「我於異日以少緣事曾至于彼那提城 群寔迦所住之處,問沙門僧提迦旃延如斯之事。彼以此義而答於我,然義句味及其文字與今所說等無有異,都無錯謬。是故我今稱為希有。如此教法昔所未有,亦未曾說。義理相順,善答斯問。」


犢子梵志聞佛所說,歡喜而去。

如是我聞:一時佛住王舍城 迦蘭陀竹園


時有婆蹉種出家來詣佛所,合掌問訊,問訊已,退坐一面,白佛言:

「瞿曇!欲有所問,寧有閑暇為解說不?」

佛告婆蹉種出家:

「隨所欲問,當為汝說。」

婆蹉種出家白佛言:

「瞿曇!何因、何緣有人來問『如來有後死、無後死、有無後死、非有非無後死』,而不為記說耶?」

佛告婆蹉種出家,如上詵陀迦旃延廣說,……乃至非有非無後死。

婆蹉種出家白佛言:

「奇哉!瞿曇!師及弟子義義同,句句同,味味同,其理悉合,所謂第一句說。瞿曇!我為小緣事至那利伽聚落,營事訖已,暫過沙門迦旃延,以如是義、如是句、如是味問沙門迦旃延,彼亦以如是義、如是句、如是味答我所問,如今沙門瞿曇所說。是故當知:實為奇特!師及弟子義、句、味,義、句、味悉同。」


時婆蹉種出家聞佛所說,歡喜隨喜,從坐起而去。

Sabhiyakaccānasuttaṃ

Ekaṃ samayaṃ āyasmā sabhiyo kaccāno ñātike viharati giñjakāvasathe. Atha kho vacchagotto paribbājako yenāyasmā sabhiyo kaccāno tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā āyasmatā sabhiyena kaccānena saddhiṃ sammodi. Sammodanīyaṃ kathaṃ sāraṇīyaṃ vītisāretvā ekamantaṃ nisīdi. Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho vacchagotto paribbājako āyasmantaṃ sabhiyaṃ kaccānaṃ etadavoca– “kiṃ nu kho bho, kaccāna, hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”ti? “Abyākataṃ kho etaṃ, vaccha, bhagavatā– ‘hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”’ti. “Kiṃ pana, bho kaccāna, na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”ti? “Etampi kho, vaccha, abyākataṃ bhagavatā– ‘na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”’ti.

“Kiṃ nu kho, bho kaccāna, hoti ca na ca hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”ti? “Abyākataṃ kho etaṃ, vaccha, bhagavatā– ‘hoti ca na ca hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”’ti. “Kiṃ pana, bho kaccāna, neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”ti? “Etampi kho, vaccha, abyākataṃ bhagavatā– ‘neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā”’ti.

“‘Kiṃ nu kho, bho kaccāna, hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti, iti puṭṭho samāno– ‘abyākataṃ kho etaṃ, vaccha, bhagavatā– hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti vadesi ‘Kiṃ pana, bho kaccāna, na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti, iti puṭṭho samāno– ‘abyākataṃ kho etaṃ, vaccha, bhagavatā– na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti vadesi. ‘Kiṃ nu kho, bho kaccāna, hoti ca na ca hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti, iti puṭṭho samāno– ‘abyākataṃ kho etaṃ, vaccha bhagavatā– hoti ca na ca hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti vadesi. ‘Kiṃ pana, bho kaccāna, neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti, iti puṭṭho samāno– ‘etampi kho, vaccha, abyākataṃ bhagavatā– neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraṃ maraṇā’ti vadesi. Ko nu kho, bho kaccāna, hetu, ko paccayo, yenetaṃ abyākataṃ samaṇena gotamenā”ti? “Yo ca, vaccha, hetu, yo ca paccayo paññāpanāya rūpīti vā arūpīti vā saññīti vā asaññīti vā nevasaññīnāsaññīti vā, so ca hetu, so ca paccayo sabbena sabbaṃ sabbathā sabbaṃ aparisesaṃ nirujjheyya. Kena naṃ paññāpayamāno paññāpeyya rūpīti vā arūpīti vā saññīti vā asaññīti vā nevasaññīnāsaññīti vā”ti. “Kīvaciraṃ pabbajitosi, bho kaccānā”ti? “Naciraṃ, āvuso, tīṇi vassānī”ti. “Yassapa’ssa, āvuso, etamettakena ettakameva taṃpa’ssa bahu, ko pana vādo evaṃ [var] abhikkante”ti!
